What is the 60-Chur standard on your churidars?

In authentic Awadhi court tailoring, the number of gathers or "churs" signifies royal refinement. Standard trousers have minimal gathering, whereas a true Riwayat churidar is cut at 52 to 56 inches in length, allowing 50 to 60 dense, sculptural rings of fabric to cascade around the lower calf and ankle.
How does the Complimentary Bespoke Made-to-Measure service work?

Our master ustaad will individually cut and drape the ensemble specifically for your silhouette. This service is complimentary with every order.
Is there inner fabric margin left inside for future alterations?

Yes. Every single kurta and churidar crafted by Riwayat includes a generous 2.0 to 2.5 inches of concealed inner side margin on both sides. This allows you to effortlessly let out or take in the garment up to two full sizes in the future.
2. Fabric Purity & Zari Certification
Are all silks certified by the Silk Board of India?

Without exception. Every garment is affixed with an authorized Silk Mark label verifying that only 100% natural mulberry, tussar, or katan silk was used. We do not incorporate synthetic art-silks, viscose blends, or polyester in our woven bases.
Will the gold zari threads tarnish over time?

Our brocades and zardozi needlework use tested metallic electroplated silver-gold yarns with protective micro-coatings that prevent oxidation and tarnishing. When stored inside our provided unbleached cotton muslin trunk bags, these heirlooms retain their luster for decades.
